MEINE DECKE - MY BLANKET

Meine Decke nimmt langsam Formen an. Als ich die Teile an die Wand gesteckt hatte, fragte ich mich, warum ich nicht gleich in Log Cabin gearbeitet habe. So lernt man halt..........
Now that my quilt begins slowly to look like a blanket I wonder why on earth didn't I use the Log Cabin square in the first place?

T-SHIRT IST FERTIG - T-SHIRT IS FINISHED

Barbara hat gut Lachen, denn ihr T-shirt, was sie in meinem workshop angefangen hatte, ist nun fertig geworden. Barbara is happy to have finished her t-shirt that she started in my class some weeks ago.

Ich finde sie hat eine gute Farbkombination gewählt und die Anordnung der Motive gefällt mir gut.

I like the color combination and the design. An diesem grauen t-shirt arbeite ich zur Zeit im Auftrage meine lieben Cousine . Sie möchte auch passend dazu ein Band haben, was sie gerne um ihren Hals trägt. Finde ich eine gute Idee.!

Currently I am working on a shirt in grey and blue colors commissioned by a dear cousin of mine. She also ordered a neck band in the same colors . What a pretty idea!

KANN MAN EFEU FÄRBEN? - IVY TO DYE FOR

Marion, jetzt färbst du sogar schon das Efeu in deinem Garten? Denn so sah es vorher aus und sieht es auch jetzt noch.

Marion, you even dye the ivy in your backyard? Didn't it look green before and still does?

Im Frühjahr hatte ich etliche Zweige in einen Topf gepflanzt zusammen mit einem roten Gewächs , das aus kleinen Kleeblättern und gelben Blüten bestand. Im Laufe des Sommers bemerkte ich, wie das Efeu die rote Farbe der Nachbarpflanze annahm.
In the spring I planted some green ivy together with a red colored annual that had tiny clover leafs and yellow blossoms. During the summer I noticed that the ivy took on the color of its neighboring plant.

Erst nach dem 1. Frost bemerkte ich, wie rot der Pflanzensaft des Kleebatts war. Die Pflanze war natürlich eingegangen, und die Steine, auf denen der Topf gestanden hatte, waren von rotem Saft bedeckt. Ich denke, dass dieser die Ursache der Färbung gewesen ist. Ist das nicht interessant? Ob man das auch mit anderen Pflanzen machen kann?
It was only after frost had killed the Shamrock that I realized the red sap all over the tiles on which I had placed the flower pot for the summer . The same same sap must have caused the ivy to change its color. How cool is that? I might try it with another plant next spring.

EINE WARME DECKE - A WARM BLANKET

Diese kuschelige Decke habe ich mal vor einigen Jahren für meinen Mann gemacht. Es wurde ein beliebtes Streitobjekt zwischen uns beiden. Das soll sich nun ändern! Die Garmischer Quiltgruppe trifft sich 1 x monatlich, um 3 Stunden zu nähen, jeder an seinem Projekt. Das ist diiieeeee Chance.

Although I made this soft blanket for my husband some years ago we both like to fight over it at night while watching TV. This will finally be put to an end since I started working on an new quilt just for me. The quilt group in GAP meets once a month to work on their individual projects and that will be the night. Ein gebrauchter weißer Kaschmirmantel wurde zertrennt und gewaschen-

I took an old white cashmere coat appart

helle Wollstoffe wurden dunkel eingefärbt -

I dyed som wool fabric from medium to dark ,

Dann nähte ich Streifen aneinander und schnitt 45Grad Dreiecke. - Then I sewed different stripes together and cut them into 45 degree triangles.

Daraus entstanden 2 verschiedene Quadrate, siehe 0ben-unten.

Das hier ist erst der Anfang. Hoffentlich wird die Decke noch fertig bevor der Winter zu Ende geht.
