WENN MAN GROßMUTTER IST - BEEING A GRANDMA

Das ist Nele, meine fast 2 jährige Enkelin. Natürlich ist sie das niedlichste, intelligenteste, energiereichste, ausgeglichenste Kind der Welt. Sie ist auch der Grund, warum meine Quiltarbeiten für eine Woche auf Eis gelegen haben . Doch für solche Momente wie auf diesen Fotos und für viele andere mehr, war es das wert.

This is my granddaughter Nele. She is almost 2 years old and she is of course the most beautiful, most intelligent and adorable child of the world. It was for her that I had to put my quilting aside for 1 week but for moments such as these and many others it was worth it.

Die Art und Weise wie das Ärmelloch entstanden ist, ist anders als ich es sonst kenne. Dieses hier gefällt mir besser und läßt sich auf jeden Pullover übertragen. Die Reduzierung der Maschen erfolgt immer am Anfang und am Ende einer Reihe.: Randmasche- 1 rechts - 1 abheben- 1 stricken und die abgehobene drüberziehen. Am Ende für die letzten 4 Maschen: 2 zusammenstricken - 1 rechts- 1 Randmasche. Die Rückreihe wird normal gestrickt.

I like the way how the armwhole was done . It was different than usual and is applicable to any sweater . The stitches are decreased at the beginnig and end of the row as the following: Knit 2 st. - pull 1 st - knit 1st. and pull the 3 st. over. At the end of the row leave 4 st : knit 2 together- knit last 2 st.

Dies ist bei Quiltern als "BLOCKEN" bekannt. Die Teile werden mit Nadeln auf eine Unterlage gespannt und mit einem naßen Frottetuch bedeckt, möglichst über Nacht.

The quilting term for this is "Blocking". After the parts are slightly stretched and pinned, they are covered with a wet towel possibly over night.
